What we collect
Church listings
Churches give us the details shown on their public page, such as the church name, address, service times, phone, email, website and photos. This information is published on the site.
Accounts
When a church creates an account we collect a name, email address, mobile number and a password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form and cannot be read by us.
Messages
If you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, any phone number or church name you add, and your message, so we can reply.
Technical information
Our servers record your IP address and browser type when you visit. We use this to keep the site secure, to limit spam and abuse, and to fix faults.
How we use it
- To publish church listings and events, and to run search.
- To create and look after church accounts, and to send account and sign-in emails.
- To reply to messages.
- To protect the site from spam and misuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies at the moment. If that changes, we will update this page and ask first where the law requires it.
Other services we use
- Google reCAPTCHA on forms, to stop automated spam. Google receives limited information about your device when it runs.
- Google Maps for addresses and directions links.
- Email delivery services to send our messages.
- Stripe, if a church buys a paid listing. Payments are handled by Stripe and we do not see or store card details.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
Keeping information
We keep church information while the listing is active. Messages are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request. You can ask us to delete your account or your message at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@worldchurchfinder.com. Church owners can also edit or remove their listing after signing in.
Changes
We will put any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
